Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, who turned state witness in a case filed over crimes against humanity committed during the July Uprising, testified today (2 September) against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.
The prosecution said International Crimes Tribunal-1, led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mojumder, recorded Mamun's deposition today.
Earlier, on 10 July, Mamun voluntarily expressed his willingness to become a state witness in the case against Sheikh Hasina and admitted his own involvement.
So far, 35 witnesses have testified in the case, according to tribunal officials.
