Positive enthusiasm among voters: EU observer mission
The mission will release its preliminary report on Bangladesh’s national election on Saturday (14 February).
The European Union Election Observation Mission says up until noon it has observed positive enthusiasm of voters in participating in the polls of national parliamentary election of Bangladesh.
After visiting Dhaka University's Curzon Hall polling centre, Chief Observer Ivars Ijabs said, "Up until noon today, we have seen positive enthusiasm for participation among Bangladeshi citizens."
He said the mission will release its preliminary report on Bangladesh's national election on Saturday (14 February).
The mission remains fully neutral and is not involved in any political process, he said adding, "We are observing the election and later, on 14 February, we will produce a preliminary report on how the election has been conducted."
He added that the mission has been receiving information from its observers deployed across the country and has already begun compiling data to prepare a credible observation report.
Earlier, members of the European Union Election Observation Mission entered the Curzon Hall polling center at the University of Dhaka at 11:50am. The presiding officer escorted them around the center and showed them the voting process. They stayed at the center for about ten minutes and spoke with the polling officials.
