Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Tarique Rahman on leading the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) to a decisive victory in Bangladesh's parliamentary elections.
In a Facebook post, Modi extended his "warm congratulations" to Tarique, saying the outcome reflected the trust of the people of Bangladesh in his leadership. He affirmed that India would continue to stand in support of a "democratic, progressive and inclusive Bangladesh."
The Indian prime minister also expressed his desire to work closely with the BNP leadership to strengthen bilateral ties and advance shared development goals, underscoring the importance of the multifaceted relationship between the two neighboring countries.
