Bogra-7: BNP’s Morshed Milton declared winner in Khaleda Zia’s seat
Following the death of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on 30 December, Morshed Milton was declared the party’s candidate for the seat
In the Bogura-7 (Gabtali-Shajahanpur) constituency, BNP's candidate Morshed Milton has been unofficially declared the winner of the parliamentary seat.
The information was confirmed today (12 February) from the office of the returning officer in Bogura.
There are a total of 173 polling centres in Bogra-7, excluding postal votes. According to the results announced from all 173 centres, Morshed Milton secured 262,501 votes.
His nearest rival, Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Md Golam Rabbani received 115,184 votes.
Following the death of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on 30 December, Morshed Milton was declared the party's candidate for the seat.
Party sources said Khaleda Zia had won the Bogra-7 seat in every election from 1991 to 2008. Since then, the constituency has come to be known as "Khaleda Zia's seat."
