NIA seek details of doctors trained in Pakistan, Bangladesh, UAE, China after Red Fort blast
The investigation is examining possible links to what authorities have referred to as a “Doctor Terror Module”
Indian investigative agencies have begun compiling information on medical professionals who earned their degrees in Pakistan, Bangladesh, the UAE and China, as part of a wider probe triggered by the Red Fort blast case.
Officials confirmed on Tuesday that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Delhi Police and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) are jointly coordinating the effort.
According to The Statesman, hospitals, clinics and nursing homes across Delhi have been instructed to furnish records of doctors on their staff who received medical education in any of the four countries. A letter issued to healthcare facilities, accessed by the newspaper, states: "Kindly provide details of the doctors working in your hospital who have obtained degrees from Pakistan, Bangladesh, UAE, and China, in view of the prevailing situation following the bomb blast at Red Fort on 10.11.2025. Kindly treat this as most urgent."
Some healthcare institutions, however, have advised investigators to retrieve the information directly from the Delhi Medical Council (DMC), which officially maintains the credentials of registered practitioners.
A source familiar with the enquiry said: "Agencies will question all doctors who completed their degrees from these four countries. Their criminal records and financial transactions will be thoroughly checked."
The investigation is examining possible links to what authorities have referred to as a "Doctor Terror Module". Probing officers aim to determine whether any foreign-trained doctors had prior knowledge of the network or maintained contact with those allegedly involved.
The NIA has so far made two arrests in connection with the Red Fort blast. Amir Rashid Ali, an associate of the key suspect Dr Umar Nabi, was taken into custody on 16 November. The following day, Jasir Bilal Wani, also known as Danish, was arrested in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. Both men are now in NIA remand.
