Debate over US position in Russia-Ukraine talks
Western powers, including the United States, have stepped up diplomatic efforts to end the war in Ukraine. While talks in London, Washington and Moscow have gained momentum, implementation of the agreement remains uncertain. While the US proposal appears to offer some concessions to Russia, Ukrainian and European leaders remain firmly opposed to the recognition of Crimea. The draft agreement remains fraught with ambiguities and legal complications. As a result, a solution is still a long way off.
