ICT Division, Huawei provides training to 21,000 girls in three years

ICT Division of Bangladesh and Huawei have jointly provided ICT training to more than 21,000 girls in the country during the last three years.

The training was carried out in 1,226 sessions through two digital mobile training buses, said the press release.

ICT Division under the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology signed the agreement with Huawei, an ICT provider, and Robi Axiata for a three-year long ICT training project back in 2015.

The training program has been conducted in different remote rural areas of the country through six digital mobile training buses, fully equipped with modern ICT training facilities.

Huawei provided free ICT training to 21,238 girls in remote rural areas of Bangladesh through 'PADMA' & 'RUPSA', two digital mobile training buses operated by the company for the last three years.

The main purpose of the project is to disseminate information technology knowledge among the rural females to help them to be self-dependent in the future.

A program was arranged on the expiry of the project at the ICT Division office at Agargaon in the capital city on Wednesday.

Director of the Public Affairs and Communications Department of Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Ltd, Zhang Qidi handed over the buses to Mr. Akhtar Mamun, the Director of Learning and Earning project under ICT Division at the program.
