BRAC Bank MD Selim RF Hussain resigns
The bank’s Board of Directors has accepted his resignation and sought Bangladesh Bank’s approval in this regard.

Selim RF Hussain has resigned from his position as the managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) of BRAC Bank PLC.
He submitted his resignation letter, effective today (27 May), to the Board of Directors this morning.
The Board of Directors has accepted Selim's resignation and sought Bangladesh Bank's approval in this regard.
According to sources, some internal conflict has led to Selim's resignation.
BRAC Bank's Board of Directors has appointed Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, additional MD and head of Corporate and Institutional Banking, as the bank's MD and CEO (current charge).

In an email sent to his colleagues this morning, Selim wrote, "All good things must come to an end and such is the same for my time at BRAC Bank PLC. I have tendered my resignation to the Chairman & Board of Directors.
"Obviously there are some organizational and central bank formalities but I am assuming these will not be an issue, and today will be my last day at the Bank."
He said, "It has been a great privilege for me to work with you for close to ten years now as we, together, built an outstanding institution and a role model in the banking industry."
"I am confident that BRAC Bank will continue to grow and become even more relevant to our economy and general society and that each one of you will grow in your personal and professional lives in the coming years," Selim wrote to his colleagues.
"I wish all of you and your families good health and prosperity and please do keep mee and my family in your prayers," he said ending the email.
Selim was appointed as the bank's MD and CEO on 8 November 2015 and has since served two three-year terms with the bank.
In December 2021, he was reappointed to his positions. His reappointment was approved by the Bangladesh Bank and made effective from November 2021.
His term in office was supposed to end in March 2026.
