India is further deepening its ties with Russia amidst Western pressure and the impact of the Ukraine and Iran conflicts. During the Modi-Putin meeting on September 11, Putin called for developing BRICS into a robust economic platform that serves as an alternative to the Western system. The two nations are also strengthening cooperation in energy and trade, with a target to raise bilateral trade to $100 billion by 2030.
