The registration opening was announced today at the Seeds for the Future 2025 Bangladesh launching ceremony at Huawei Bangladesh Academy.

Hon'ble Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Hon'ble Chief Adviser, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology, attended the event as the Chief Guest. At the same time, Shish Haider Chowdhury, Secretary of the Information and Communication Technology Division, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology; Li Shaopeng, Cultural Counsellor, Chinese Embassy to Bangladesh; and Dr. MD. Mohiuddin, Secretary of Ministry of Social Welfare, were present as the Special Guests. Dr Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor, North South University; Professor M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Treasurer, University of Dhaka; Wu Ji, President, Huawei South Asia & CEO, Huawei Bangladesh, along with other high officials of Huawei, were also present at the event.

Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb said, "The current interim government is working to formulate national policies for AI, cloud and semiconductors. So, for all those things, we will launch a grand digital transformation master plan. Huawei has a significant market share in telecommunications and ICT. Therefore, it has a role here which can help this transformation. So, I would like to welcome Huawei to engage with more and more universities with AI and digital and computer technology labs so that our youth can get opportunities in the country."

Shish Haider Chowdhury said, "Bangladesh is heading towards the digital transformation, and in this transformation process, Huawei is a great and trusted partner in Bangladesh. I congratulate Huawei and China for this wonderful global initiative, which they have taken to support more than 18,000 students and partner with more than 500 institutions worldwide."

Li Shaopeng said, "I would like to express my gratitude to Huawei for its commitment to advancing local talent development and for its outstanding contributions to deepening China-Bangladesh cooperation in the information and communication technology sector. Huawei has implemented this program for 11 consecutive years, with more than 120 outstanding Bangladeshi participants receiving training opportunities in China. Many of them have become leaders in the ICT fields in Bangladesh, and some are working for Huawei Bangladesh, contributing to China-Bangladesh cooperation."

At the inauguration event, Wu Ji, President of Huawei South Asia and CEO of Huawei Bangladesh, said, "Over the years, this program has served as a bridge between global innovation and local potential, providing Bangladeshi students with access to world-class training, cross-cultural experiences, and hands-on practice in advanced ICT fields. Through programs like this, we strive to inspire, equip, and empower them to become future-ready professionals who will lead the country's digital advancement."

Undergraduate students in their third or fourth year with a CGPA of 3.30 can enroll in this competition by sharing their curriculum vitae (CV) and a recent photograph by May 10, 2025. Their resume should include academic and extracurricular information and part-time job experiences (if any). They also need to share their interest in telecommunications and technology and the reasons for their interest.

Participants will be initially shortlisted based on CV screening. Selected candidates will undergo online interviews, 20 hours of AI, Cloud, Digital Power, and more training, and a four-day boot camp focused on business and technology. After completing the boot camp, participants must submit a project and prepare a presentation. The top eight winners from the Bangladesh round will be chosen through evaluations and pitching sessions. The eight winners can attend the training sessions and T4G competition at Huawei Headquarters in China.

Since its inception in Bangladesh in 2014, 'Seeds for the Future' has provided valuable opportunities for the country's youth, offering exposure to state-of-the-art technologies and insights from industry experts. The program has made a remarkable global impact, with participation from 141 countries and over 18,000 students directly benefiting from its initiatives.
