Trust Bank signs agreement with Bangladesh Bank for startup fund

Bangladesh Bank and Trust Bank PLC have signed a new participation agreement to implement the BDT 500 crore Start-up Refinancing Fund, aiming to nurture entrepreneurs and support new business ventures.
The signing ceremony took place on 2 September at the Jahangir Alam Conference Hall of the Bangladesh Bank. Additional Director Muhammad Mustafizur Rahman signed on behalf of the Bangladesh Bank, and Ahsan Zaman Chowdhury, Managing Director and CEO, signed on behalf of Trust Bank. Senior officials from both institutions attended the ceremony.
Under the agreement, Trust Bank will extend loans on favourable terms to start-up entrepreneurs using Bangladesh Bank's refinancing facility. The bank will also provide training, technical assistance, and guidance to help entrepreneurs manage and grow their businesses.
This initiative seeks to transform innovative ideas into viable ventures, create employment opportunities, strengthen the SME sector, and drive Bangladesh's overall economic growth.
