In his walled, tin-roofed workshop in Amtala, past Azimpur’s Chapra Mosque, sculptor Aminul Islam Ashik stands flanked by his creations of Vladimir Putin on the left and Donald Trump on the right. More factory than studio, the space hums with the presence of welding machines, saws, axes, and an arsenal of tools.
