SA Games Volleyball: Bangladesh Men’s team concede 0-3 defeat against India

Both the Men’s and Women’s Volleyball competitions of the seven-nation South Asian Games began on Wednesday (Nov 27), four days ahead of the formal opening of the games on December 1.

Bangladesh Men's Volleyball team suffered a straight 0-3 sets defeat against holders India in the 13th South Asian Games in their 2nd match at Tripureshwor Covered Hall in Nepal's Kathmandu on Thursday.

Bangladesh Men's team conceded 18-25 points defeat in the first set, suffered 14-25 points defeat in the 2nd sets and lost the 3rd set by 15-25 points to make their semifinal spot uncertain. 

Bangladesh Men's Volleyball team made a good start beating hosts Nepal by 3-2 sets in a keenly contested match Wednesday evening and now they had to wait for the outcome of Nepal-India match on Friday (Nov 29) to decide their semifinal fate from Group A.

Earlier, Bangladesh Women's Volleyball team made a frustrating start in the 13th South Asian (SA) Games after conceding straight 0-3 sets defeat against hosts Nepal in the opening match at the same venue on Wednesday.

They will play their remaining Group A match against India on Friday at 1:15 pm. 

Two top teams from each of the women's and men's competitions will play in the semifinals on November 30 and December 1 respectively while the finals of both groups will be held on December 3.

Both the Men's and Women's Volleyball competitions of the seven-nation South Asian Games began on Wednesday (Nov 27), four days ahead of the formal opening of the games on December 1.
