Pacer Shahadat banned for five years
Shahadat's actions amounted to a level 4 offence of the BCB code of conduct which resulted into him being banned for five years with two years being suspended.
Bangladesh paceman Shahadat Hossain was handed a ban by the Bangladesh Cricket Board for assaulting a team member.
Shahadat assaulted teammate Arafat Sunny junior during a National Cricket League (NCL) match last Sunday and was withdrawn in the middle of the game, leaving his team a man short.
His actions amounted to a level 4 offence of the BCB code of conduct which resulted into Shahadat being banned for five years with two years being suspended along with a fine of three lac takas.

NCL technical committee headed by former national Captain Minhazul Abedin, decided on the pacer's punishment on Tuesday.
"We have taken a decision regarding him (Shahadat). He has been given a five year ban, with two years suspended. If he wants to appeal, he can do it by November 26. According to the report, He committed a level four offence. The technical committee took their decision according to that," Minhazul said.
Shahadat said that he will appeal the decision and added that he did not understand why everybody was making such a meal of the incident which seemed pretty petty to him. He said, "I did not assault any of my opponents. What I did was I pushed him (Arafat Sunny). Arafat is my junior, I will appeal to the BCB with him by my side.I pushed him, we had a bit of a quarrel between ourselves, I don't know why everyone is making such a big deal out it. I have been playing for a long time. I never misbehaved on the field, the incident happened in the heat of the moment."
33 year old Shahadat played 38 Test and 51 ODIs for Bangladesh. His last appearance was in 2013.
A disciplinary breach is not new for Shahadat as he was arrested in 2015 for beating up his domestic help.
Minhazul added that such incidents was very bad for any cricketer.
"It was a very bad incident. A cricketer having such issues regularly is very shocking. It is bad for any cricketer. The BCB is very strict about this. No player has the chance to escape (punishment). We punished him considering everything. This will remain as an example for all cricketers," Minhazul said.
