Indian, Egyptian, Turkish envoys call on Tarique Rahman
The meetings took place at the party chairperson’s office in Dhaka’s Gulshan this afternoon
Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma, Egyptian Ambassador to Bangladesh Omar Mohie Eldin Ahmed Fahmy and Turkish Ambassador to Bangladesh Ramis Sen paid separate courtesy calls on BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman today (10 January).
According to a post on the BNP's official Facebook page, the Indian envoy met Tarique Rahman at the party chairperson's office in Gulshan in the afternoon.
BNP Media Cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan said Pranay Verma arrived at the office around 5pm and held a nearly hour-long meeting with the BNP chairman, reports UNB.
Later in the evening, Egyptian Ambassador Omar Mohie Eldin Ahmed Fahmy met Tarique Rahman at the same office at around 7:30pm, Shayrul Kabir Khan said, reports BSS.
The Turkish ambassador and the BNP leader exchanged views on various important issues of bilateral interest between Bangladesh and Turkey, according to Shayrul.
Earlier in the day, Tarique Rahman also held a meeting with Ivars Ijabs, a member of the European Parliament and the chief observer of the European Union Election Observation Mission, at his Gulshan office.
