BCB XI set 228-run target for Chhattisgarh SCS

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) XI set a mediocre target of 228 for Chhattisgarh State Cricket Sangh (SCS) on Tuesday with a day to spare. 

The teams are facing off in the four-day semifinal of Dr (Capt) K Thimmappaiah Memorial Cricket Tournament at Alur-1 (Platinum Oval) ground in Bengaluru.

On the third day, Chhattisgarh SCS resumed their first innings with overnight total of 210/4 in 59.1 overs. They were eventually all out for 257 in 77.3 overs, riding on a century by Rishabh Tiwari and half century by Shashank.

Opener Rishabh contributed just 100 runs off 192 balls hitting 10 fours on the second day (Monday) while number five overnight batsman Shashank (54) ended up with 85 off 132 balls hitting 10 fours and a six.

Saif Hasan, Ariful Haque and Najmul Hossain Shanto picked up two wickets each conceding 26, 13 and 13 runs respectively.

BCB XI, who were 334 all out in the first innings, opened their second innings on Tuesday. They were bundled out for 150 in 62.1 overs when the bails were drawn for the third day, giving Chhattisgarh SCS a target of 228 runs.

Ariful Haque scored 63 off 145 balls, knocking seven fours, while Kazi Nurul Hossain contributed 30 off 52 balls, hitting three fours. 

Shubham Agarwal did the major damage, grabbing four wickets for 51 while his teammates Punit Datey took three wickets and Veerpratap Singh took two conceding 18 and 34 runs respectively. 

BCB XI needed a draw to qualify for the final as they are enjoying advantage by virtue of first innings lead.
