Bangladesh seal T20I series with dominant win in Chattogram
While the first two matches of the Bangladesh–Ireland series were held in the evening, today's third T20I in Chattogram was played under daylight. Bangladesh completed half the job with disciplined bowling, bundling Ireland out for 117. Chasing 118, the hosts cruised home by eight wickets with 38 balls to spare. Under Litton Das’s leadership, Bangladesh won the three-match series 2–1.
Bir Shreshtha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram belonged entirely to Tanzid Hasan Tamim today. He entered the record books with five catches in the field, then dismantled the Ireland bowlers with the bat. On a Tamim-inspired afternoon, Bangladesh swept aside the Irish in the series-deciding third T20I to seal the series.

Bangladesh made an aggressive start to the chase. Openers Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Saif Hassan added 38 off 24 balls. Craig Young broke the stand on the last ball of the fourth over, with Saif (19) caught by Mark Adair at mid-on while stepping out of the crease to play. Captain Litton Das, batting at three, made 8 off 7 balls before departing. After the dismissals of Saif and Litton, Bangladesh's score read 46 for 2 in 5.2 overs. But losing two quick wickets caused no difficulties for the hosts, as Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Parvez Hossain Emon added an unbroken 73 off 50 balls for the third wicket.
In the 11th over, Tamim took Gareth Delany apart, smashing two sixes and a four to collect 17 runs on his own. Tamim completed his 11th T20I fifty off 38 balls, reaching the milestone with a six off Young on the first ball of the 14th over. On the fourth ball of that over, he pulled Young through mid-wicket for four to seal a comfortable 8-wicket win for Bangladesh. Tamim was named player of the match for his unbeaten 55 off 36 balls, which included four fours and three sixes. Emon remained unbeaten on 33 off 26 balls with one four and three sixes. Harry Tector and Young took one wicket each for Ireland.
Earlier, Ireland captain Paul Stirling won the toss and chose to bat in the series decider. Despite scoring 50 for 1 in the first five overs, Ireland kept losing wickets at regular intervals. The visitors were bowled out for 117 in 19.5 overs. Stirling top-scored with 38, hitting five fours and a six in his 27-ball innings. Mustafizur Rahman and Rishad Hossain took three wickets each, with Mustafiz conceding just 11 runs in his three overs. Shoriful claimed two wickets, while Sheikh Mehedi Hasan and Saifuddin took one apiece. With four wickets in the series, Sheikh Mehedi Hasan was named player of the series.
