Lockdown squads are back in action as Verdansk finally returns to Warzone

On 3 April, 'Call of Duty: Warzone' players were hit with a wave of nostalgia as Verdansk, the beloved Battle Royale map from 2020, officially made its long-awaited return. After years of teasing and delays, the iconic map is finally back—and fans are loving it.
From streamers to casual players, everyone's diving into the 150-player lobbies, praising what many are calling Warzone's best update in years. With the return of choppers, Berthas, floating floor loot, vertical buy station menus, and maxed-out armour plate capacity (5 by default, 8 with a satchel), the game feels like its classic self again. Oh, and yes—you can shoot while parachuting now.
Visually, Verdansk got a 2025 facelift. While the layout remains the same, lighting, shadows, and those tricky dark corners have all been cleaned up for a smoother, sharper experience. Fan-favorite weapons like the HDR sniper, Kilo 141, CR-56 AMAX, and the Grau 5.56 are also back. The Grau's iron sight may look a little different, but it still packs a punch.
There were some questions about how Warzone's new Omni movement system would fit with Verdansk's dynamics, but early reactions are solid. With a few speed tweaks, movement feels fluid, fresh, and full of possibilities.
