Nothing brings back Snake Xenzia with a modern twist

For many of us, the Snake game was the ultimate time-killer on classic Nokia phones, and its simple charm still holds a special place in our hearts.
Now, 26 years after its debut, tech company Nothing has revived this retro gem with a modern twist. The tech brand has launched a new Nothing Community Widgets app for Android, featuring a widget version of Snake alongside other user-created tools and games.
In this revamped version, players use touch controls to guide the snake – swiping to steer and double-tapping to pause— while retaining the same nostalgic gameplay. As before, the aim is to gobble up red dots and grow as long as possible without colliding with yourself.
The idea for the widget came from Rahul Janardhanan, an artist who earlier this year shared creative concepts for potential widgets for NothingOS. Inspired by his designs, the company teamed up with its software team and a community developer to bring the Snake widget to life.
The Nothing Community Widgets app, now available for the Nothing Phones, combines nostalgia with user-driven innovation, staying true to the brand's collaborative spirit.
