Films and documentaries on July Uprising to receive public grants

Mahfuj Alam, Adviser for Information and Broadcasting, announced that the government will be funding new short films and documentaries centred around the July uprising.
Two full-length feature films and eight short films and documentaries in production, and have been funded by the government.
The government is additionally funding a full-length documentary, another short film, as well as a short documentary revolving around enforced disappearances, killings, and the oppression that took over during the last 16 years.
Moreover, he also shared that Tk 50 million will be allotted for the production of films, documentaries, and short films based on the July uprising, and it will be approved later this week.
Bangladesh Film Archive will also commence work on over 200 documentaries commemorating the July uprising.
Progress has already been made as nine short films and documentaries have already been completed by the Department of Films and Publications (DFP), and Bangladesh Cinema and Television Institute BCTI has produced six short films.
