Martyrs of July uprising to be remembered for generations: Adviser Sharmeen
The state will ensure the rights of those martyred in the uprising, she says

The nation will long remember the children and women martyred during the student-led July uprising in 2024, Social Welfare Adviser Sharmeen S Murshid said today (6 July).
"We won't let the memory of the women and children martyred in the July uprising fade away," said Sharmeen following visits to homes of July martyred Riya Gop, a child who was shot dead in Nayamati and Sumaiya, a housewife killed in the Mizmiji area of Siddhirganj in Narayanganj city.
"Their stories will be compiled and preserved. They will not be forgotten," she added.
She further said the state will ensure the rights of those martyred in the uprising, noting that Deputy Commissioner Zahidul Islam Miah is already working toward that end.
"I have spoken to the families to understand their struggles and challenges. As part of the Ministry of Social Welfare, I will do everything within my power to support them," she said.
Several senior officials, including the Deputy Commissioner of Narayanganj, were present during the visit.
