Fox wanders on runway delaying flight's take off in Ctg airport
A response vehicle was sent immediately to chase the animal away and clear the path
A US-Bangla Airlines flight remained stranded on the runway of Chattogram's Shah Amanat International Airport for about 26 minutes after a fox wandered onto the strip today (19 November).
Airport spokesperson Ibrahim Khalil said, "The Dhaka-bound US-106 flight was scheduled to take off at 11:40am today when the incident occurred. As the aircraft prepared for departure, the inspection team spotted a fox entering the runway."
A response vehicle was sent immediately to chase the animal away and clear the path, he added.
The runway was declared safe shortly afterward, allowing the aircraft to depart at 12:06pm.
Khalil further stated that runway inspections are carried out before every takeoff and landing. But the dense vegetation around the runway often draws wildlife. Foxes, snakes, and stray dogs occasionally stray into the area despite routine monitoring.
