With the hijacking of the MV Abdullah, which was going to Dubai from Mozambique, on Monday, the fears of pirates running rampant on the high seas has returned once again.
A consortium of six international shipping organisations declared in 2022 that piracy in the waters off Somalia no longer posed a significant threat to global shipping.
