BSMMU introduces online appointment system

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) has launched an online appointment system for outdoor patients.

The Vice-Chancellor of BSMMU, Sharfuddin Ahmed, inaugurated this service on Tuesday (1 August).

With the introduction of this facility, patients will no longer be required to stand in queues to purchase tickets for appointments, as stated in a recent release by BSMMU.

The new online system allows patients to visit the BSMMU website and access the "Online Appointment" tab, enabling them to schedule appointments at their convenience and in their required department. This will grant them priority access to the doctor's consultation service.

Initially, 43 departments have been brought under this online service, which can cater to 1,650 patients daily.

The number of departments covered by the online system will gradually increase, and further enhancements to the online platform will be implemented step by step, the released added.

The new appointment system offers flexible time slots, allowing patients to book appointments during the following time frames: 8:30 am - 9:29 am, 9:30 am - 10:29 am, 10:30 am - 11:29 am, and 12:30 pm - 1:29 pm.
