Metro rail services suspended for the day after two people climb onto train roof
Metro rail services were temporarily suspended this evening (30 November) after two individuals climbed onto the roof of a train at Bangladesh Secretariat station, officials said.
Operations were suspended from 8:05am after two individuals were spotted on the roof of a train.
Later around 9pm, the DMTCL announced that train services will remain suspended for the rest of the day.
According to DMTCL sources, when the metro train stopped at Bangladesh Secretariat station, two individuals climbed onto it. Services were halted after the incident was detected. One person remained on the roof of the train for some time before he was rescued, while another jumped down and fled, running along the tracks.
A search is underway for the second individual, officials said.
Metro rail authorities apologised for the inconvenience caused to commuters.
