Mosques, temples won’t be evicted from riverbanks: Khalid

State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury today said the government is working to build religious institutions along the riverbanks in a planned way by keeping all sides of the rivers open.

The religious institutions along the riverbanks are linked with sentiment, the state minister said adding that he discussed with Islamic thinkers, alems and masaeks in this regard.

"We don't want to evict these institutions," he said at a high-level inter-ministerial meeting at the ministry's conference room.
