The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Thursday detained two active members of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Digharkanda Bypass area in Mymensingh.

The detainees are Aayat Ullah Al Quabir alias Balok, 19, from Netrokona and Abu Abdullah Mohammad Soyaib, 25 from Chattogram.

On a tip off, a team of RAB 14 raided the backyard of Akiz Petrol Pump on Wednesday night.

"The duo was detained while holding a secret meeting at an under construction building in the area. RAB also seized some books and leaflets instigating militancy and extremism from the scene," RAB 14 Commander Lt Col Iftekhar Uddin said at a press conference.

During initial interrogation, the duo confessed their involvement with the banned militant outfit JMB, he added.
