Jute mill workers announce 7-day strike in Khulna
The demonstrations will be held between November 25 (Monday) and December 10 over 11 demands
Workers of the state-owned jute mills in Khulna will go for seven-day strike from Monday to press home eleven demands, including payment of arrears dues and implementation of National Wage and Productivity Commission pay grade or 'award'.
During the strike, the workers will hold processions, protests and a fast-unto-death.
Leaders of state-owned Jute Mills' Collective Bargaining Agent (CBA) and the non-CBA Sangram Parishad announced the programme at a meeting held at the gates of nine state-run jute mills in the Khulna-Jashore regions on Saturday (Nov 23).

The demonstrations will be held on seven non-consecutive days between November 25 (Monday) and December 10.
State-owned Jute Mills' CBA and non-CBA Sangram Parishad joint convener M Murad Hossain, Platinum Jubilee Jute Mill CBA president Sahana Sharmin, its leaders Humayun Kabir Khan, Deen Mohammad, Sheikh Md Ibrahim spoke at the meetings.
