Fish hospital opens in Khulna to treat diseased fish
It will offer completely free services and consultations for fish farmers, aiming to address problems ranging from fish diseases to general aquaculture concerns
Usually people visit hospitals when sick, now fish in Khulna can also receive medical care. A specialised fish hospital, 'Fish Square Fisheries Hospital,' was inaugurated in Dumuria of Khulna today (14 November) afternoon, to provide treatment and advice for fish diseases and aquaculture issues.
Md Shah Alam Sarkar, a teacher of Bangladesh Open University, inaugurated the hospital at Rudaghra Bot Tala intersection. It will offer completely free services and consultations for fish farmers, aiming to address problems ranging from fish diseases to general aquaculture concerns.
Speaking at the event, Sarkar said, "Just as humans need doctors when they are unwell, establishing a hospital to treat fish or provide expert advice is an innovative initiative. Local farmers and fish cultivators across Bangladesh will greatly benefit from the free guidance offered here."
He praised Abdus Salam Biswas, the founder of the hospital, for the initiative. After the inauguration, he visited the Fish Square Hatchery and later held discussions with local fish farmers at Rudaghra Fisheries Farmers' School.
Other attendees included Khulna Youth Development senior trainer Md Surat Ali, and Fish Square marketing and sales officer Md Yasin Biswas, among others.
