Dr Hossain confirmed that Khaleda Zia is under intensive observation in the CCU under the supervision of the medical board
BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has been shifted to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) from her cabin at Evercare Hospital.
She is supervised by a medical board of domestic and foreign specialist doctors, BNP's media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan said today (27 November).
He added that he visited the hospital at 1pm and met with Khaleda Zia's personal doctor and BNP standing committee member Dr AZM Zahid Hossain.
Dr Hossain confirmed that Khaleda Zia is under intensive observation in the CCU under the supervision of the medical board.
Earlier, on 23 November, Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital after developing a chest infection affecting both her heart and lungs.
Khaleda Zia has been suffering from multiple health complications, including heart problems, liver and kidney issues, diabetes, lung problems, arthritis, and eye-related illnesses.
She also has a permanent pacemaker and previously underwent stenting for her heart.
Professor Dr FM Siddiqui, a member of the medical board overseeing her treatment, said several of her health problems appeared simultaneously on Sunday (23 November).
He said the BNP chief has long been suffering from heart problems, including mitral stenosis, and has a permanent pacemaker and previous stenting.
The party has requested the nation to pray for her well-being.
