Bangladesh-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BGCCI) held its 18th & 19th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Executive Board Election 2021-23 on Saturday. 

The AGM and the election for 2021-23 were actively participated by a large number of members of BGCCI on a virtual platform, said a press release. 

The Executive Board Election was conducted by Chief Election Commissioner Syed Rezaul Karim.

The new Board Members elected Thomas Hoffmann, CEO of Stoll Bangladesh as the new President of BGCCI for the term of 2021-2023.  

Thomas in his speech mentioned and praised the Government for setting up a high-level 22 member committee to prepare the country to face the LDC graduation challenges.

The Senior Vice President elected are, Tarun Patwary, managing director of Kuehne+Nagel and Md Muin Uddin Mazumder, managing director of Sanofi Bangladesh. Sathish Kumar Somuraj, country head of TÜV SÜD Bangladesh, and Ibnul Wara, managing director of Austan were elected as the Vice Presidents and Saad Nusrat Khan, managing director of Audi Bangladesh has been elected as the Treasurer of BGCCI.  

Abdul Muktadir, chairman & managing director of Incepta Pharmaceuticals has been elected as the Chair of the BGCCI Committees. Md Hafizur Rahman Khan, managing director of Siemens Healthcare, Farzanah Chowdhury, managing director of Green Delta Insurance, M Humayun Kabir, CEO of Shinepukur Ceramics, Dr Sebastian Groh, managing director of ME Solshare, Ivonne Stein, country representative of Muenzer; KM Tharanga K Atthanayake, country head of Tchibo Bangladesh, and M Maksud, managing director of CORONA International, are the new Directors of the board.
