Bangladesh on 21 in vaccination race

Bangladesh currently stands at 21st position in administering doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.

This information came out in a recent report published by ourworldindata.org, which is made on the rolling 7-day average per 100 people of the total population in a country.

Bangladesh has administered more than 4.22 million vaccines till 11 March since the drive started on 7 February.

In the list, neighbouring India is at 18th position while Italy 9th. The United Kingdom is currently in 5th position in vaccinating people.

Chile is at the top of this list, Israel second and the United States is currently in third place.

Chile's performance serves as a lesson for the United States. There are many states in the US that have high percentages of people sceptical of vaccines. On the other hand, Chileans are largely in favour of vaccination and have been less vocal in their opposition to mask mandates and other stringent policies.

According to a recent Cadem survey, 62 percent of Chileans support keeping a nightly national curfew. And, unlike many other South American countries, Chile's government addressed the crisis with less diplomatic wrangling.
