A rickshaw puller has allegedly hacked his wife and sister-in-law to death in East Nakhalpara of the capital on Saturday. 

The deceased were identified as Yasmin Akter, 30, and her sister Shimu, 16. Both were RMG workers. 

Harun-ur Rashid, deputy commissioner (Tejgaon Zone) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.

He said the rickshaw puller, Rony Mia hacked the duo to death inside his residence following a family brawl. 

Sensing the mater, locals stormed into the residence and found the duo dead on the bed. 

Later, they detained Rony and handed him over to police after giving a good thrashing. 

The accused was receiving treatment at Tejgaon Thana Health Complex while the bodies were sent to morgue.
