Jubo Dal leader hacked to death in his home in Khulna

A Jubo Dal leader was hacked to death inside his residence in the Atharo Mile area of Dumuria upazila, Khulna, last night (22 August).
The deceased was identified as Shamim Ahmed, 35, son of Abdul Ghaffar of Tala upazila, Satkhira.
Confirming the incident, Dumuria's Magura police camp Officer-in-Charge Ibrahim Hossain said, "This is a planned murder."
He also said that based on the information provided by the deceased's wife, two people have been detained.
However, the names of those detained have not been disclosed for investigation purposes.
Shamim Ahmed was the joint convener of Islamkati Union Jubo Dal and lived with his family in a house owned by his mother in Atharo Mile.
Shamim's wife, Brishti Akhter, said that two men, Ejaj and Shariful Islam, visited their home yesterday evening. Shamim was acquainted with them, and they visited often.
While the family remained on the first floor, Shamim took them to the second floor. Around 11pm, she went to check on him and found his throat slit body. By then, the two men had fled.
OC Ibrahim said, "The investigation is ongoing, and it will be possible to unravel the mystery behind the murder."
He also added that the body was recovered and sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem.
