DMTCL announces special metro rail schedule for Ramadan
The existing schedule for Saturdays, other government holidays, and Fridays will remain unchanged.
Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has announced a special metro rail schedule for Ramadan. The new timetable will take effect from the 1st of Ramadan and remain in force until the day before Eid-ul-Fitr.
The decision was announced in an office order signed by DMTCL Director (Administration) AKM Khairul Alam today (17 February).
According to the notice, on weekly working days, the first train from Uttara North Station to Motijheel will depart at 6:30am, while the last train will leave at 9:30pm.
From the opposite direction, the first train from Motijheel to Uttara North will depart at 7:15am, and the final train will leave at 10:10pm.
The existing schedule for Saturdays, other government holidays, and Fridays will remain unchanged.
The notice further states that, during Ramadan passengers will be allowed special arrangements for Iftar. Each passenger may carry only one bottle of water not exceeding 250ml inside metro trains and station premises. Passengers are advised to ensure that water is not spilled on the floor, and empty bottles must be disposed of in designated bins on platforms or within stations.
