These 42 Bangladeshis illegally entered Assam over the past three years and stayed at different detention centers in the state

Forty-two Bangladeshi nationals, including 33 men and nine women, were sent back to Bangladesh on Monday from the Sutarkandi International Border check post in Karimganj district of South Assam, India.

These 42 Bangladeshis illegally entered Assam over the past three years and stayed at different detention centers in the state, reports The Sentinel. 

Mayank Kumar, the superintendent of Police of Karimganj district, said that the Bangladeshi nationals were detained 2-3 years back under the Foreigners' Act. The Foreigners' Tribunal had declared them illegal foreigners.

He said these illegal immigrants were arrested from nine districts of Assam. 

The Indian authorities deported the Bangladeshi nationals through legal procedures, the police super added.
