Asif Mahmud claims Facebook page taken down after mass reporting over Hadi-related content
The verified page, which had more than three million followers, was reportedly taken down after multiple posts related to the late Sharif Osman Hadi, leader of Inqilab Mancha, were targeted with copyright strikes and mass reports.
Former interim government adviser and prospective Dhaka-10 candidate Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain has alleged that his official Facebook page was removed by Meta today (26 December) following what he described as a coordinated mass reporting campaign.
The verified page, which had more than three million followers, was reportedly taken down after multiple posts related to the late Sharif Osman Hadi, leader of Inqilab Mancha, were targeted with copyright strikes and mass reports.
Asif confirmed the development in a post from his personal Facebook profile this afternoon. "My official page [with over 30 lakh followers] has been removed after coordinated reports and strikes were issued on all posts and videos related to Osman Hadi bhai," he wrote.
The former sports adviser claimed that the reporting campaign was organised through several Telegram groups, where links to his posts and videos were circulated to facilitate what he termed a "mass strike".
"Strikes were issued on all three videos I posted regarding Hadi bhai," he added.
Asif also shared a screenshot of a notification from Meta that read, "We removed your page," citing violations of community standards. A search for Asif Mahmud's official verified Facebook page currently yields no results, confirming that the page is no longer accessible on the platform.
