Measles outbreak: 8 more die in 24hrs, death toll rises to 639
DGHS data show that between 15 March and today, a total of 9,927 measles cases were confirmed through laboratory testing.
Eight children died from measles symptoms in 24 hours to this morning (10 June), raising the total death toll to 639.
During the same period, 945 patients with measles symptoms were admitted to hospitals nationwide, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of these, 94 cases were laboratory-confirmed as measles.
So far this year, at least 92 children have died from confirmed measles infections in Bangladesh. In addition, 547 children have died with symptoms consistent with measles.

According to the latest health bulletin, 82,029 suspected measles cases have been identified nationwide. Of these, 66,999 patients have already been discharged after receiving treatment.
