Strong 7.8-magnitude earthquake hits Philippines, many buildings collapse
A powerful 7.8-magnitude earthquake has struck off the coast of General Santos city in the southern Philippines' Mindanao region. The quake struck at 7:37 a.m. local time on June 8, according to the BBC. At least three people were killed and five injured. The German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) said the quake had a depth of 10 kilometers (6 miles).
