Quazi Shairul made Sammilito Islami Bank chairman, Abedur MD
Both have been appointed for a three-year term.
The government has appointed a new chairman of the Board of Directors and a managing director (MD) to Sammilito Islami Bank.
Abedur Rahman Sikder, deputy managing director of Dutch-Bangla Bank, has been appointed as the bank's managing director, while Quazi Shairul Hassan has been appointed chairman of the board of directors.
The appointments were announced through two separate notifications issued by the Financial Institutions Division under the Ministry of Finance today (8 June).
According to the notifications, Abedur and Shairul have been appointed for a three-year term, effective from their respective dates of joining.
The notification regarding the MD's appointment requested the chairman of the bank's board to take necessary follow-up measures in accordance with the Bank Company Act, 1991, to complete the appointment process of Abedur Rahman Sikder.
