Southeast University signs MoU with British Council
Southeast University signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the British Council on 22 January 2026 to strengthen academic collaboration and enhance initiatives in English language education and assessment.
The MoU signing ceremony was held on the university campus in the presence of senior officials from both institutions. Professor Dr Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, vice-chancellor, Southeast University, and Maxim Raimann, country exams director, British Council, expressed optimism about the scope and long-term sustainability of the collaboration.
The event was attended by Professor Dr M Mofazzal Hossain, pro-vice-chancellor, Southeast University; Maj Gen Md Anwarul Islam, SUP, ndu, psc (retd.), registrar, Southeast University; Professor Dr Farhana Helal Mehtab, dean, School of Law and School of Arts and Social Sciences; Dr Zaheed Alam Munna, chairman, Department of English; and Dr Muhammad Tofazzel Hossain, convener, MoU Committee, along with faculty members and university officials.
The partnership aims to promote excellence in English language teaching and learning, professional development, assessment support and capacity-building programmes for students and faculty members.
The collaboration reflects Southeast University's continued commitment to academic quality, international engagement and alignment with global standards in higher education.
