2 men in black helmets hurled crude bombs in Dhanmondi 27, CCTV footage shows
The men fled from the scene quickly, and their identities have not yet been ascertained
Amid multiple incidents of crude bomb detonations across the capital, a CCTV footage from Dhanmondi-27 shows two men hurling two crude bombs on the streets.
The Business Standard obtained the CCTV footage from the police. Two men wearing black helmets arrived in a motorcycle around 7:30am today (10 November) and one of them got down from the motorcycle to throw crude bombs one after the other.
They fled from the scene quickly. The identities of the men have not yet been ascertained.
Today, crude bombs exploded in four separate locations in Dhaka, including the premises of a business owned by Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter.
Two bombs targeted Farida's business premises on Sir Syed Road at around 7:10am.
One bomb landed inside the premises while the other exploded on the street, confirmed the officer-in-charge (OC) of Mohammadpur Police Station.
In Mirpur, a bomb exploded on the road in front of the Grameen Bank headquarters around 3:45am today.
Meanwhile, in Dhanmondi, motorcycle riders detonated two crude bombs near Ibn Sina Hospital, Shah Mostafa Tariquzzaman, DMP assistant commissioner for Dhanmondi zone, confirmed.
"Two people were on a motorcycle and hurled the crude bombs. When police tried to nab them, they fled the scene like thieves," said Jishanul Haque, additional deputy commissioner of Dhanmondi zone.
