BRAC Bank honours top performers for driving remittance growth
BRAC Bank has recognised its top performers for exceptional contributions in driving inward remittance growth and promoting innovative products tailored for remittance beneficiaries.
A total of 45 individuals – including branch officials, agent banking personnel, sales teams, and agent banking partners – were honoured in various categories for their contributions to the Probashi Poribar and TARA Probashi Poribar account opening campaign.
These initiatives seek to promote secure banking channels for remittance inflows and encourage savings among beneficiaries, thereby ensuring long-term financial security.
At a ceremony held on 26 October 2025 at the bank's head office, BRAC Bank Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, presented awards to the top-performing colleagues who made the greatest contributions to the campaign.
"We aim to strengthen Bangladesh's remittance business and contribute positively to the national economy," said Tareq Refat Ullah Khan. "Our dedicated colleagues are tirelessly encouraging remittance inflows through legal channels. Today's awardees truly deserve this recognition for their unwavering efforts."
The recognition event celebrated employees who played a vital role in reaching customers and ensuring high-quality banking services. Both account types offer a range of benefits, including complimentary life insurance and monthly interest. Furthermore, female customers enjoy additional privileges, such as free health and maternity insurance. These features encourage beneficiaries to save their remitted funds, promoting financial well-being and long-term stability.
The event was attended by Md Shaheen Iqbal, CFA, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Treasury, FI, and Corporate and Institutional Banking; Shahrear Zamil, Head of Remittance and Probashi Banking; as well as other senior officials.
BRAC Bank has introduced the Probashi Poribar Account for families of expatriates, and the TARA Probashi Poribar Account specifically for female family members. During the campaign, customers who opened these accounts and received remittances through BRAC Bank were offered attractive gifts.
With BRAC Bank's digital onboarding platform (e-KYC), customers across the country can now open accounts seamlessly within minutes. Expatriates are also able to open BRAC Bank accounts from abroad via the e-KYC facility.
This year, the bank launched the Expatriate Virtual Savings Account, enabling customers to access BRAC Bank's internet banking app, Astha, instantly using a virtual debit card. Through this feature, they can transfer funds to any account or wallet worldwide, pay utility bills, open or close fixed deposits and DPSs, and monitor balances and transactions – all from anywhere in the world.
