Hult Prize CU drives menstrual health education through ‘Project Odhora’
Hult Prize at the University of Chittagong has launched "Project Odhora ," a community-driven initiative designed to break the stigma surrounding women's menstrual health.
The project aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and 4 (Quality Education).
The first workshop under the project was held on 4 November 2025 at Fateyabad Shoilabala City Corporation High School.
The session was attended by Campus Director Khaled Mahmud Onik, Chief of Staff Kazi Muhaiminul Islam Munaj, and Chief Strategist Karin Saffana. The initiative was led by Nishat Tahsin Chowdhury and Tanjif Hasan, supported by the Community Engagement Team.
The workshop created a safe, inclusive space for students and teachers to openly discuss menstruation. Topics included understanding the menstrual cycle, how it begins, menstrual hygiene and self-care, and safe practices for maintaining reproductive health.
At the end of the event, a quiz competition was held, and participants received customised gift packs. The organisers shared a key message: "Women's menstrual health is not a taboo — it's a natural part of life that deserves understanding, care, and respect."
