LankaBangla celebrates completion of Visa Migration Project 2025
LankaBangla Finance PLC has celebrated the completion of its Visa Migration Project 2025 at Amari Dhaka, describing the milestone as the culmination of the project team's efforts.
The company also expressed gratitude to IT Consultants PLC for its role in the transition.
A brief project summary was presented by Md Kamruzzaman Khan, Project Sponsor and SEVP, Head of CMSME and Retail Business, and Didarul Haque Miah, EVP and Head of ICT, who also served as Project Manager. The company stated that their briefing highlighted the strategic leadership and technical execution behind the project's completion.
Osman Haider, Deputy Managing Director, IT Consultants PLC, attended the event. From LankaBangla Finance's senior leadership, Quamrul Islam, SEVP, Head of Treasury and FI; Shamim Al Mamun, FCA, SEVP and Chief Financial Officer; and Mohammad Hafiz Al Ahad, SEVP and Head of Human Resources, were also present, alongside other guests.
LankaBangla stated that the project will enable several operational benefits by transitioning to a unified switching platform for both Mastercard and Visa. The company noted that the move will optimise operations through direct associate membership and streamline management through a single communication and reporting channel.
The company stated that the consolidation will deliver annual cost savings by removing transaction income sharing and certain additional fees for card issuance or printing. It also noted that the integration will improve processing times and enhance customer experience through standardised features across both brands, including services such as BEFTN and Green PIN facilities for Visa cardholders.
