3 tax officials to face ACC case over Tk146cr tax evasion by tampering files

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has approved a case against three officials, including Abu Sayeed Md Mustaq, tax commissioner of Dhaka Tax Zone-5, on charges of causing Tk146 crore in tax evasion by tampering with files.
The ACC commission granted approval for the case on Thursday (21 August), ACC Deputy Director Md Akhtarul Islam confirmed.
ACC Assistant Director Minhaj Bin Islam will soon file the case.
The accused named in the approved case are: Abu Sayeed Md Mustaq, commissioner of Tax Zone-5; Additional Tax Commissioner Golam Kabir; and Deputy Tax Commissioner Lincoln Roy.
According to sources, the ACC may file two separate cases against the accused.
