ACC to launch inquiry into Dhaka North administrator over abuse of power, corruption

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to launch an inquiry against Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Mohammad Azaz over allegations of abuse of power, irregularities, corruption, and bribery.
An ACC senior official confirmed the development to The Business Standard on Thursday (27 November).
According to the anti-graft body, it received complaints accusing Administrator Azaz of misusing his authority to engage in various forms of corruption and bribery.
In response, an officer from the Daily and Recent Complaints Cell sent a letter to the director general (investigation-1) earlier on Thursday recommending the initiation of a formal inquiry.
The letter, seen by The Business Standard, instructed relevant officials to take necessary measures to begin the investigation process.
