Mercantile Bank opens 153rd branch in Malkhanagar, Munshiganj
Mercantile Bank PLC unveiled its 153rd branch at Malkhanagar, Shirajdikhan in Munshiganj, bringing technology-driven banking closer to local residents.
The new branch, situated at Bhuiyan Complex, Taltola Bazar, officially opened on 21 July 2025.
M A Khan Belal, Chairman of the bank's Executive Committee, inaugurated the branch as chief guest. Mati Ul Hasan, Managing Director and CEO of the bank, delivered the welcome address at the ceremony.

Deputy Managing Director Shamim Ahmed, along with Mohammad Hossain, Vice President and Head of Branches Division, and Md Mahmudul Hasan, Head of Malkhanagar Branch, were present. The event drew participation from local dignitaries, customers, and community members.
Prominent guests who spoke on the occasion included Monjurul Alam, Headmaster of Malkhanagar High School; Shafiqul Islam Nannu Bhuiyan, land donor of the branch premises; Yasin Shumon, President of Jubodal's Shirajdikhan Thana unit; Taslim Uddin Sheikh, businessman; Md Zaman, Acting Chairman of Malkhanagar Union; and local business leaders Joynal Abedin Nilu, Md Al Amin, and Fazlul Haq Swapan Matbar.
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director reiterated the bank's commitment to bringing modern, inclusive banking services to underserved areas. "Our Malkhanagar Branch will offer seamless banking with modern facilities and personalised services for both retail and SME clients," he said.
Mercantile Bank officials announced that the branch will offer a comprehensive range of banking services, including digital and agent services.
