AIUB alumni reunion held in Australia

AIUB Alumni Australia (AAA), the official alum association of the American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB), hosted a memorable reunion on June 21, 2025, at the Pullman Hotel, Sydney Airport, marking the university's 30th anniversary.

Alums, faculty members, families, and special guests gathered from across Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, and Perth to celebrate AIUB's three-decade journey and reconnect with old friends. The event served as a vibrant platform to share memories, strengthen bonds and honour the university's contributions to professional and personal development.

A highlight of the evening was the presence of Mrs Nadia Anwar, Founder Member and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, AIUB, and Dr Carmen Z. Lamagna, Member of the Board of Trustees and former Vice-Chancellor. In their speeches, both dignitaries reflected on AIUB's remarkable growth and rising international stature over the past 30 years. They also applauded the alum community for their ongoing contributions to society and for upholding the values instilled during their time at the university.

Several alums shared personal stories, expressing gratitude to AIUB for shaping their careers and character. The event featured opening remarks, cultural performances, a formal dinner and an awards ceremony honouring all participating alums.

Attendees expressed joy at the opportunity to reconnect, reminisce about their student life, and build new personal and professional networks within the wider Bangladeshi diaspora in Australia.

The evening concluded on a high note, with enthusiastic commitments from alums to further strengthen the AIUB global network and support ongoing institutional initiatives.

This landmark reunion reflects the strength of AIUB's global alum presence and the enduring connection its graduates feel to their alma mater.
