New Franco-Bangladeshi journalists group establishes first executive body
The executive body will serve a two-year term
A new platform designed to foster cooperation between media professionals from France and Bangladesh, the France-Bangladesh Journalists Association (FBJA), has officially launched its first executive committee.
The formation of the committee marks a significant milestone in enhancing dialogue, professional exchange, and strengthening ties between journalists from both nations. The executive body will serve a two-year term.
Mohammad Mahbub Hossain, the France correspondent for Daily Naya Diganta, has been appointed as the coordinator of the association's activities. He will be supported by Mohammed Kamruzzaman, former finance secretary of the Dhaka Reporters Unit (DRU), who will serve as joint coordinator.

France24 journalist Mohammad Arif Ullah has been designated as the spokesperson for the FBJA, with Mosaddak Hossain Saiful, representing Bangladesh Pratidin and Nagorik TV in France, as joint spokesperson. Habibullah Fahad has been appointed as the finance secretary of the association.
The FBJA has also established several dedicated working groups to support its mission.
The Communication and Public Relations Cell will be led by renowned columnist Niaz Mamud, with Thanbir Ahmed Tuha providing assistance. The Training and Skills Development Cell, aimed at upskilling members, will be headed by senior journalist Md. Nazmul Hasan, with multimedia training guided by Channel i's France correspondent Hasem M A and print journalism training overseen by Abdullah Al Mamun.
Momin Bin Mahmud Ansari, former vice president of the Chittagong University Journalists Association, will lead the Planning and Event Management Cell.
Several journalists have also been selected as general members of the association, including Sarder Hasan Yelias Tasnim, Zakir Hossain, Yeashir Arafat Khokan, Md Mamunur Rashid, and Siful Islam.
With its leadership in place, the FBJA aims to serve as a bridge between French and Bangladeshi journalists, promoting professional growth, cultural understanding, and long-term collaboration.
